Exhibitor Information
The GAL Convention Exhibition is the ultimate lutherie show-and-tell, so we encourage all members to exhibit their work. If it’s your first instrument or your 300th, we want to see it! Exhibits of supplies and services to the lutherie community are also welcome. The opportunity to exhibit is open only to GAL members (but we invite you to join!). One exhibition table is included in your registration fee ($215). If you are selling supplies, wood, or services, you will need to register at the higher supplier rate which includes one table ($350). Suppliers can have up to two additional tables for an additional fee of $150 per table.
The exhibition will be open each day from 1:00pm until 5:00pm during the three full days of the convention (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Thursday and Friday’s exhibition is open to registered participants only. Saturday’s exhibition is open to the public, free of charge. If you would like to invite friends or customers to see you at the convention, please invite them for the Saturday exhibition.
We usually fill two exhibition halls. Chris Knutson Hall on the main floor of the University Center is where we put many instrument exhibits and all the supplier exhibits. (It has a convenient load-in area for suppliers.) The Scandinavian Cultural Center, just downstairs in the University Center, is a beautiful carpeted room with space for many more instrument exhibits. Exhibit space is first-come, first-served. You are responsible for the safety of your instruments and belongings. The exhibition halls are locked when we leave, and the University Center is locked in the evenings.
Each exhibit will have one 3' x 6' banquet table and two chairs. Please provide your own table covering and bring anything that you would like to dress up your display (guitar stands, etc). We assign table locations prior to the convention. If you have special requests (hall preference, electric outlet, wall behind your table, etc), you can let us know when you register or later when we ask registered participants for that info. You can also request that your table be near a friend’s (if you both make the request), or in the space you had previously. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.
Exhibitors will receive more information after they register. There will be a suppliers-only set-up time on Wednesday afternoon. Instrument exhibitors will have an hour to set up prior to the first exhibit period on Thursday.
You may ship your supplies and instruments in advance. See our info on shipping for address and fees. Do not ship anything to GAL Headquarters or directly to PLU. A shipping agent will be available on-site on Saturday evening and Sunday morning for return shipping.
