The closest campground,
Dash Point State Park near Federal Way, is 21 miles from PLU and about a 30-40 minute drive.
Kopachuck State Park near Gig Harbor is 25 miles from PLU and is a 40-50 minute drive depending on traffic, especially over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. (Bridge traffic can be very congested, especially on weekday mornings.)
Majestic Mobile Manor in Puyallup is an RV park that allows tents, and is only 10 miles from PLU, about a 20 minute drive. If you have a self-contained RV, you can park on lower campus, but you won't have access to dorm showers or bathrooms.
