TRAVELING TO TACOMA

Tacoma is easily accessible by car, Amtrak, bus, and plane (SeaTac International Airport is a 45 minute drive from PLU).

There are several options available to reach PLU from the airport. Shuttle service directly from SeaTac to PLU is provided on a reservation basis by Capital Aeroporter (800-962-3579) 48 hour advanced reservations required (28.75 per person one-way, $48.50 per person roundtrip), last shuttle leaves the airport at 12:20AM PST, or the Shuttle Express (net fare per vehicle, each way, $10 roundtrip discount available on all of their airport services), $37 for 1 rider, $69 for 2 riders, $101 for 3 riders, $133 for 4 riders, $165 for 5 riders, $197 for 6 riders, $229 for 7 riders, $175 for 8-10 riders. Town Car service ($82, seats 3 guest comfortably), Executive Limo service ($107, seats up to 6 guests), Luxury Limo service ($158, seats up to 8 guests), Exclusive 10 passenger van ($175), Exclusive 25 passenger mini-bus ($197 from the airport, $187 to the airport), Exclusive 29 passenger mini-bus ($232 from the airport, $222 to the airport), Exclusive 32 passenger mini-bus ($257 from the airport, $247 to the airport) 800-487-7433 (WA) 800-324-9227 (nationwide), and there is also express Metro bus service from SeaTac to the south end of Tacoma. Car rental is another option.

Amtrak and Greyhound are located in downtown Tacoma and connect with PLU by local bus (Pierce Transit) or taxi.

If you are driving, you can easily reach PLU (located in the suburb of Parkland just south of Tacoma) via Interstate 5 (click here for directions).

If you want to travel by bus through Sound Transit. Here's the bus schedule to get from the airport (SEATAC) to Pacific Lutheran University. Type in Seatac Airport as your starting point.

OUR CONVENTION SITE

This will be our eighth convention at Pacific Lutheran University, which is located close to Guild headquarters, and has received the most favorable reviews from our members.

Western Washington has a mild summer climate, with temperatures usually in the 70s, and comfortable humidity. We suggest you bring a light jacket or sweater for the possible cool evening.
